That's really funny: I just got here to ask exactly the same question.
RetroShare is a really cool software, but it needs one crucial feature: turtle hopping, which is precisely what you have.

I was wondering if it would be possible to integrate name resolution and allow hostnames to be input as IP addresses. Since I turn turn off my ADSL modem nightly I get a new IP each time I reconnect and even if I don't turn off the modem the connection renewed daily giving me a new IP address. DNS resolution would make it much easier to keep a network going.

if a packet is hopping, a copy of the packet or a chunk could be stored in each client as a cache, then the hopping route or tunnel is shorter, to find queries and packets for shorter routes, please use the ed2k hash system with md4

can you build in a DHT for bootstrapping dynamic IP adresses - to have a serverless messenger like www.cspace.in ?
emule kademlia is an open c++ DHT.
