  • Followup: RE: applets, jar file placement

    For anyone else who might traverse this path, the answer is that TightVNC has an onboard web server of its own that handles the applet. No need to install a separate web server. If this post does get answered, I might try to run the applet under this web server to see if performance is better.

  • applets, jar file placement

    Hoping to run the applet for the TightVNC Java viewer I've been trying to figure out where the jar should be placed. Placing it in the jre's /lib isn't working. From the JDK_HOME displayed at startup I determine which /lib to put the jar in, but the applet fails to load. Also tried referencing it explicitly in the -cp parameter for the startup script, but the class load still fails...

    Only server itself, no J2EE deployer.You need to limit compilation unit to Acme package and below.

    1. Unzip distributive zip content 2. Make sure that java can be started by typing java in command line 3. Change directory to the unzipped directory/bin and type tjws You can also start server using starter exe from directory servservice of the installation.
