i,
Your program is really great, but is there anyway to snap to the record cursor or is it called recorder line. Is their a short cut key that snaps to the recording line, as the audio is being played. At the moment I'm using Pgup and Pgdown and home and end, but it's not very accurate like this:)
thanks,
Tau.

Hi,
I managed to setup Sweep - i.e. Playback/Configure Audio Device/main device - for on line recording. (looks to be the only setup to do).
With alsa, only plughw:0,0 seems to be available with one sound card (82801DB ICH4 intel).
How can one record on line?
On line datas can be heard from speakers. But displayed sound remains quiet.
Which setup to do on Sweep? or on Alsa?
Does somebody...

Sweep could be THE audio editor for Gnu, I love its interface and its speed. Professional editing could be a plesure. Two features are missing, though: JACK support is vital, and there should be the possibilty to load plug-ins and listen to audio after realtime processing, not just render-and-check-afterwards...
Really, if Sweep had this features it could even blow W*vel*b!

1. start sweep
2. feed it with REALLY big file (1.2GB waw)
3. sweep die silently
there is info on console:
[andrej@f11-64 ~]$ sweep-audio-editor

Adding the ability to display and sync a video alongside the audio would open up sweep for use by indie movie makers that can't afford pro tools and the like.
All that's really required is the ability to play video in sync with the video along with the ability to scrub through the video and audio mix in intervals of frames instead of ms.
I mean, OMF would seal the deal, but that's...

Dear sweep developers,
After compiling sweep-0.9.3 on CentOS 5 today and installing it, I cannot playback any track for testing nor can I record anything. I've tried to search on the site for some tutorials, but found nothing. Pretty much I can't do anything.
When I load it through terminal all I get are the following errors:
sweep: alsa_setup: audio interface does not support host endian...

On Sabayon4 (2.6.27-sabayon) sweep v0.9.3 will not load any mp3 or ogg file. Any such file given either as a cli parameter, or using sweep's GUI (File - Open) keeps yielding a dialog box stating: libsndfile: Supported file format but file is malformed. : No such file or directory.
Yet, the file plays in any player with no difficulty.
libsndfile v1.0.17-r1...

I just compiled and installed Sweep on Fedora 10.
I'm trying to figure out how to record. I can find a record button on the bottom left in the main window and when I click on that another window with a mixer pops up with another record button but when I click on the record button nothing happens.
Is this broken or am I missing something?
Thanks.
