Sky Chart / Cartes du Ciel Files

This directory contain recent snapshot based on the Git source code. 
The installer here can be used instead of the stable version for an initial installation or to update any existing version. 

On Windows the preference is to install the 64bit *-windows-x64.exe file.
The installer do not run on old versions of Windows prior Vista. If you still use XP you need the zip installer. But remember Skychart is not guaranteed to work on Windows version not currently supported by Microsoft. 
If you upgrade from Windows 32bit to 64bit version you must be carefull to keep only one version in "Program Files" or in "Program Files (x86)", but not the two. I recommend you uninstall the 32bit version first. 

On Mac with Intel processor install the file macos-x86-64, with Apple silicon install macos-arm64.

On Linux you must also install the package libpasastro available from https://sourceforge.net/projects/libpasastro/ 
You can also try the Qt6 version that may work better on system using Wayland.
In this case install skychart-qt6*.deb or skychart-qt6*.rpm
This require the library libQt6Pas6 to be installed, for now it is only available in Debian Trixie and the latest Fedora. It will be in Ubuntu 25.04.
In the mean time you can install it from:
https://github.com/davidbannon/libqt6pas/releases/tag/v6.2.10
But note this require at least Ubuntu 22.04, Fedora 36 or Debian Bookworm.
