Hi,
the game Frozen Bubble (http://www.frozen-bubble.org/)
uses SDL_Pango and the authors developed an
extension
http://zarb.org/~gc/t/SDL_Pango-0.1.2-API-adds.patch
which is already incorporated by some of the
providers of packages (verified for Debian and FreeBSD,
NetBSD pkgsrc probably soon).
According to one of the authors of Frozen Bubble they

when trying to configure SDL_pango (0.1.2) I get the following error
checking for pangoft2 >= 1.2.0... configure: error: *** pangoft2 >= 1.2.0 not found!
I have freetype 2.1.5 installed, I have changed the pangoft2.pc file to have the following :
Cflags: -I${includedir}/pango-1.0 -I${includedir}/freetype2
how can I make SDL_Pango compile ?
