The p2 feature is deprecated and the direct installing of plugins is more convenient at the moment. AssetMaintenanceBase_2.0.0.201407021604.jar is been upgarded to latest iDempiere 2.0 dependency. It is the plugin needed by both AssetMaintenance_2.0.0.201407021605.jar for installing at the idempiere-server side. and by AssetMaintenanceC_2.0.0.201407021609.jar for the client side. AssetMaintenance-iDempiere.pdf decribes the working of the module. Note that the p2 part is no longer valid. Maintenance2Pack.zip is for manual Pack In if the base plugin does not work.
