Pyrotate is Python program for log files rotation. It uses any external archiver such as Winrar, 7-zip or gzip for compress and may rotate files in GNU/Linux logrotate's style. Program works in any OS such as Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac OS, etc, where Python may work.
Dependencies:
- Python v2.6 or better v2.7 (v2.5 for pyrotate v0.8 or earlier)
- an external archiver

Программа для ротации и/или архивации логов (и любых других) файлов, которая использует любой внешний архиватор и может ротировать файлы в стиле Линуксовой программы logrotate в любой ОС, где работает интерпретатор языка Python.
Требования:

Good, but doesn't provide a "real-time" gaurd.

I use this on quite a few log scripts, but found it failed on windows boxes that contain spaces in the path name. A quick change to the code solved it: Find line 356 in pyrotate.py change: cmd = "%s %s %s" % (compress, curr_file_arc, curr_file) to cmd = "%s \"%s\" \"%s\"" % (compress, curr_file_arc, curr_file) This adds the quotes to the cmd line command and allows any file name/ folder path combination. Other than that its a spot on script :) Thanks
