    Great! Where can I send you the logo? Or if you prefer you can google "eumas logo", click "images" and its the very first one... well for me... It has two blue shaded lines with five stars at the end. You can't miss it!

    You are referring to this image: http://eumasa1.googlepages.com/logoEumas.JPG/logoEumas-full.jpg The resolution is indeed not great. You might be better off just re-drawing the image from scratch with inkscape. I was able to get reasonable results with the following commands. This is assuming you have already converted the jpeg to bmp. cat eumas.bmp | mkbitmap -f 30 -t 0.42 | potrace -t...

    Dear Hugo, the main issue seems to be creating a high-quality, two-color (black and white) bitmap that Potrace can trace. As such, it is likely not a problem of how to use Potrace, but rather a problem of how to prepare the input. In particular, if your jpeg is of bad quality or of a low resolution, don't expect Potrace to do miracles. That said, if you send me the file, I'll see what I...

  • university logo

    Hello, I am finalizing my final project report and as such I'd like to have a neat logo of my uni for the cover page and presentation... Since it is in .jpg format I first converted to .bmp with "convert eumas.jpg eumas.bmp" then "potrace eumas.bmp", but the result is awful... I am sure there's a way around setting parameters, but I am afraid I don't have much time! Can...

  • Comment: test failure: backend-check.sh

    Dear Paul, ouch, this bug report slipped my attention. My daughter was born in May 2007, so you can imagine why :) No, this does not indicate a real problem; the file size can vary due to different floating point round-offs etc. I have adjusted the lower bound to 16900 for the next release. Thanks for the report, -- Peter.

  • test failure: backend-check.sh

    I get this test failure from "make check" with potrace 1.8: Checking backends... data1.pbm: |========================================| 100% data1.pbm: |========================================| 100% data1.pbm: |========================================| 100% data1.pbm: |========================================| 100% data1.pbm...

  • Comment: Fix depths of XFig objects

    I don't have any releases planned for the very near future. Potrace is pretty stable at the moment. The XFig backend is not very heavily used from what I can tell; you might be the first person who has ever asked about it. So for now, this change will be released only as a patch. -- Peter.
