The root project cannot be active if there is another project selected.
I think, Martin meant, that the current (=selected) project should be more 'highlighted' = it must be clear to the user, which project in the tree is now active.

some elements in the configuration.ini should have the value 'autodetect' by default:
- Ttimezone Server
- Language
- web path
- upload path
- log pathes.

The grid buttons move onto the right side (right aligned) , the breadcrumb starts on the left side.

The tabs should have a different layout, according to usual web standards:
- All tabs appear above the pane, not inside
- the selected tab is bigger than the others.
- the selected tab has another color than the others
