openLCA 1.4.1 - release candidate

Note that this is still a beta version for testing and not a final release. If you find a bug or if there are other problems with this version please let us know (e.g. via the issue tracker on our Github repository where you can also find the current source code). Many thanks!

Major updates

• Project results: There are now much more features available for project results. You can create user friendly reports with dynamic result visualizations via a report editor. The reports can be exported and shared as HTML files (e.g. on web pages). This feature was sponsored by the US EPA.
• Translations: You can change the language of the user interface under File/Preferences/Configuration (also the memory settings). We have currently support for Bulgarian, Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
• Copy and paste support for tables: You can copy the content of every table to the clipboard and paste it to Excel or other spreadsheet software (use Ctr-c or the context menu).
• Scripting: openLCA now provides a scripting interface for Python and JavaScript. You can find a Python and JavaScript editor under Window/Developer tools in openLCA where you can edit and execute scripts in these languages.

We will publish more documentation about these new features with the final release.

Minor updates

• Faster database import: The import of one openLCA database into another one should be much faster now.
• ILCD export/import: Support the import and export of external documents of source data sets.
• EcoSpold 1 export: Added configuration options to export data sets so that these data sets can be opened with the EcoSpold Access Tool.
• Allow import of multiple Excel files.
• Created a link to the global parameters from the process parameter page.
• Last used LCIA method and NW set are stored in the calculation dialog.
• Added experimental feature which shows refresh buttons in editors.
• Import parameter descriptions and uncertainties from SimaPro CSV.

Fixed bugs

• Delete shapefiles and product system layouts when the respective models are deleted.
• Conversion factors of units not updated when reference unit is changed in the unit group editor.
• Number generator does not work correctly for triangular distributions.
• Parameters with links to shapefiles are not copied correctly when an LCIA method was copied.
• Monte-Carlo-Simulation with uncertainties in product system parameters gives a null-pointer exception.
• Minor bug-fixes in the EcoSpold 1 export.
• Date format and separator is not taken from the file header in the SimaPro CSV import.
• It is possible to delete a product exchange that is used in a product system.
• Relative result charts in reports are not shown correctly when there are zero values in LCIA results.
• Performance improvements when flows are deleted (openLCA hangs).
• Flow categories not shown in flow-impact contribution page.
• Accept text entries in combo-boxes.
• Parent category can be moved in child category (both disappear).
• Process exchanges table expands on edit.
• ILCD flow locations not imported.
• No option to save product system after building supply chain from context menu in graphical editor.
