i followed wiki instructions and i can compile esxi 3.5 drivers plus your 8168/9 driver on my centos3.9, i'm try to compile the driver in object ( http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/lan/3com/3c940/046_Linux.zip ) merging CFLAGS values in your *.sh files with ones in its makefile, but i fail.
Can you plz help me?

Intro
This project is an effort to expand hardware support for the ESX and ESXi platforms, especially ESXi due to the fact that VMware is now licensing it for free. This will allow wider use of it, especially on commodity and Whitebox hardware - hardware not typically supported by VMware.

Does the 8169 driver support jumbo frames?
I when I configure the VMKernel Port and vSwitch with an mtu = 7000 then I have issues connecting to my iSCSI devices, but with mtu =1500 they seem to work fine.
Any suggestions?.

I run a windows server vm on one of my installs and there is no problem at all doing this. One of the earliest versions of the driver had an "overload" problem that resulted in packet loss in some circumstances, but that is ancient history. It is all working on 3.5 U3 and U4 (I run U3 not U4 so I have not tested this my self but a number of other people have, including...

I hope it comes soon, as far as I can gather the driver doesn't work on ESXi 4.0. However it could be a mistake my side.

Thx for your suggeted. It can't use on guest win OS but I can use guest Linux OS and Service Console (Enable SSH). I modify this driver to use on ESX 3.5 but found same problem.
My problem only Guest Win OS. I can ping on it but can't ftp, http etc. This problem will be patch source r8168 file.
