  • Command Line Parameters

The command line parameters for the GUI of it should show its GUI instead of a command prompt window.

  • Hiding window during backup

It would be nice if there were an option to have it to minimize itself into the System Tray while its doing a backup/restore.

  • Comment: Making an Image on a Network Drive is slow

Oh, I forgot to mention that I used the copy used blocks option, so the resulting Image was only 176 GBs in size.

  • Making an Image on a Network Drive is slow

*subject* When I made an image of my 500GB HD, it took 6 hours and 40ish minutes for it to be made (it went at 6-7 MB/s). Right now when I'm copying it from the Network Drive to my HD using Windows Explorer (on Windows 7), it states that its going to take 4 Hours and 30 minutes for it to be copied over (at 10.8 MB/s). If Windows Explorer can copy at that speed, then ODIN should be able to...

  • Differental Backup

It would be nice if there could be an option to update a disk image with any new changes that occurred (thereby performing a Differential Backup).

  • Might I suggest a feature?

As an ordinary XP user, I need a way to boot with ODIN when my operating system needs replacement, i.e. a boot disk. I tried using bartPE but gave up in frustration. Is there a way (or will there be) a way to create a boot disk for ODIN?.

  • Followup: RE: Use Linux BootCD to recover

Thanks for your reply. Linux is my goal in terms of recovery CD, I really do not want to mess with Windows Live CD. I want to make a simple restore interface and I do not want to rely on BartPE or any other live Windows CD because of licensing. My users use - Windows - of different versions, so what Live CD can I use... This is why I'd like to know if any of the ODIN users know of a Linux...

  • Followup: RE: Use Linux BootCD to recover

Possibly you could find a Linux program that could interpret the ODIN files, but why would you want to? If Linux is your goal, use PartImage in the first place. You can even use dd piped through gzip piped through split if you're clever about it, then do the reverse to restore. (Google that; I've forgotten the exact syntax; it's a bit picky.) I understand why you feel that this would be...

  • Use Linux BootCD to recover

Hi, Are there any Linux standard tools that can read the Image info and use it to recover the image? Alternatively, did anyone try to compile the code (at least the recovery part) to work with Linux? Thanks, Jacob.
