Your issue has nothing to do with OS platform or hardware being used.
Ndmfs is not a full blown NDMP implementation, its just a sample of the File Service extensions created by Data Domain. It does not include any of the DATA or MOVER methods of NDMP, that is the cause of the errors you see.

Hello,
We are working on NDMFS for backup & recovery purpose.We have compiled code downloaded from www.sourceforge.net, but we are facing some problems regarding DATA_CONNECTION.
After connection establishment between the 2 machines,on giving the command-"data_connect" we get an error-"NDMP_NOT_SUPPORTED_ERR".
The same error occurs for the "backup" and...
