  • I am using mrViewer for almost 2 years now. I am so happy I found it. I love it. I mainly use it to scrub reference videos for animation. I know this software did more than that. but sadly this amazing software is so underrated. I hope more people will find it. Recently I switch to Linux. and I am on using mrViewer on Linux. I wish there is a flatpak version of it. By the way, Thank you so much for your valuable time to give us this awesome software.
  • Much needed software for viewing images.

  • Great player. What would be amazing is version control, ability to version up and down on a clip, similar to the Foundry's products

Version control is already supported if you follow a naming convention. You need to name your clips with a distinct text, like: gizmo_v001.#.exr Then in the Preferences->Loading, make sure that the versioning prefix is set to _v (or whatever you set it to). Finally, you can use Alt+PgUp / Alt+PgDown to switch from one version to the next (like gizmo_v002.#.exr). When you switch versions the prefix will be changed to a regex (which you can further modify).
  • Thank you very much for the program distributed under a free open license!
  • Switched from RV - it's that good. Love how quick it is and the fact that's it's source is open makes it a huge winner over Autodesk owned RV. Would recommend 100%.

  • Robust colour accuracy and useability.
  • Having used DJV for years, we were looking for something as solid to take its place and provide tools for work in stereo 360. Mr Viewer does that and more. It's a dream tool to integrate into the pipeline. Kudos!

  • Mrviewer is a high end still image and sequence viewer. Its light footprint and extensive support for float formats like EXR and HDR make it a valuable production tool. Features like drag and drop of sequences and pixel inspection tools have made it my viewer of choice. I have not yet found an picture format that mrviewer does not recognize. One feature which is particularly useful is the ability to zoom in to a small area and compare it with other images while still zoomed in. File loading is impressively fast. You can also create movie files of varying quality of several of the most common container formats. Support for bug fixes and feature requests is immediate.

  • We are now using mrviewer as our base image sequence player in our company. It fits very well in our nuke-based image pipeline, because it supports proper viewing of our exr images, and has option to convert custom luts like .cube or .3dl. to its ctl format and use it. Great for viewing quicktimes also, you can even continuously zoom into those. We are also using it to check shots in the cut, because it can load (custom) edls. And it can do a lot other, the feature list is very long. The player is very fast, lightweight, and very frequently updated with new features. The developer is extremely responsive and helpful, helped us in every feature request we came up with, and did it very fast. I think this player is much better than the other free alternative djv_view. And it's getting better and better.

  • It's a powerful and feature-rich image/video viewer. It makes it very easy to thoroughly inspect and compare images - right away, you get detailed information about the pixel your mouse is pointing at, and you can quickly make adjustments to the way images are presented (such as exposure and gamma) without having to go into any menus at all. The interface may seem intimidating at first, as you are presented with many buttons and sliders. However, you don't have to touch them unless you need to, and once you do need to use some of the viewer's more advanced features, you'll appreciate that they are easily accessible.

  • A great viewer for all sorts of image and video formats, lots of features and fast support by the creator!

  • This is an excellent image viewer/flipbook suitable for professional vfx and animation work, capable of displaying compressed video files such as QuickTime as well as single-image-per-frame sequences of images. You can load it up with multiple movie files or sequences and loop them back-to-back for comparison. Even has mirror horizontal and vertical modes for animators! A few rough edges here and there but no real competition in this space except for RV.
