  • I would like to add that i also saw and read the thread as the user below stated. "First of all where is the obscurity? This attack is known for a long time." Shown in an email on reddit/moodle is a major concern. Read the whole article. Now a moodler has admitted there was that thread and said it is hidden and if the person is so smart they should be able to figure it out. moodle.org /mod/forum/discuss.php?d=457050. Others now admit there was a thread, disputing what was alleged, no mention of why it was deleted. Hmmm. Why not restore it from backup? That would solve the whole issue. Problem solved! Moodle has now made the discussion viewable again, but has not clarified if there is a privilege escalation issue. The way them and their followers have treated the person is a travesty. See the discussion moodle.org /mod/forum/discuss.php?d=455090
  • Some unsettling news from the Moodle blog (moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=455090) which may make you want to rethink using Moodle for evaluation of students and may make your legal team a little jumpy. Moodle has known for over a year that any teacher can upload a simple javascript file and obtain admin privileges on their Moodle installation which gives them the ability to do a bunch of scary things - possibly sell/alter marks? and they call this a feature and will not fix it. WOW! In K-12 the kids are going to eat this up... Moodle has now deleted that thread and all other threads related to it. I guess u can do that when u own the blog. To be fair, i looked over most of their site and nowhere did it say their software is secure.... They sure do have a lot of security issues though, see moodle.org/security/
  • Moodle es un fabuloso LMS, ahora en su version 4+ la interfaz está mucho mas limpia y accesible. Es estable, segura y ultra documentada por una comunidad de desarrolladores, administradores y docentes.
  • I am only starting my journey with Moodle but so far so good! It seems to have everything I need to create simple learning websites for my students.
  • Excellent product
  • This software was very useful to me during my studies. For an open-source free software, Moodle is extremely useful and offers a lot of features.

  • Most of education software is proprietary and costs a lot of money and paid per month basis. Moodle is the bright open source exception. It is very good if you remember it's free.

  • This CMS is relatively easy to install and very rich in various features.
  • Works as inspected. Really happy with it ;)
  • Works well, nice interface and easy to navigate.
  • We work a lot with Moodle environments and have developed our own plug-ins for many of our customers. See, for example nfolearn.nl & /noviolms.nl for what we have to offer. We also use the system for workshops include ietsdoenofferte.nl and its partners. The system is very functional and highly recommended for anyone who wants to do something with learning system.
  • Actually 2.5 out 5. Moodle has long been a stock for electronic environments but it has suffered as so many well meaning software projects before it: It has become overfunctional and outdated. When Moodle started out it must have started out small and with an enthusiastic core group of open source developers. Unfortunately, software developers aren't great at developing graphic and friendly interfaces. It something I run into daily as I work as a designer and interface developer. To be more practical, right now I am doing a workflow analysis of a school that uses Moodle as an ELO. There is one dedicated system maintainer, a teacher with some tech knowledge, that tries to use the system but of course gets swamped with fixing problems the teachers and students lack in know-how. Which can become more expensive than just a hired help. It does not fit the teacher's workflow in administrative sense: the roster system is just unintuitive to use, there are absentee plugins but it is not faster then their own bookkeeping, some teachers don't have rights where you expect it too or find basic information hard to find. Students, however more web savvy they are, find Moodle an outdated beast and have trouble because most teachers do not know how to use Moodle but, more importantly, have trouble finding their way around the system. There is too much information, too many clicks, unclear how courses get ordered and slow. Now Moodle is good for storing and ordening courses and other data. System admins like that but every day users need to be trained to use it. I my opinion it needs a big overhal and rethink on how people teach. Right now the system is course centric but what I found in my research is that schools are roster-centric. The roster is the alpha and omega, so to say. To have a look at Schoology or integrate Google Drive if you want to save time or expenses would be my advice for now.

  • very good application..
  • Great software! I used Moodle in my face-to-face first-year composition courses for two semesters and also have used Moodle as a student in a graduate rhetoric and composition course. The experience with Moodle were largely positive. Thanks www.webbero.com www.studio5webdesign.co.in
  • Moodle is a product of five distinct technologies. It is good example of "Software Engineering". One of the best applications of php. An excellent developer's and learner's platform.
  • this is one of the most non-intuitive non user friendly softwares I have EVER used. IF you have a programmer that can work with the teaching staff, you MIGHT be able to use the features that it has... ex. I want to link to a file on my pc. I have to upload the file and then CHOOSE it from a list? Well DUH, I want to use the one I just uploaded! Basic web mail apps are smarter than this!!
