  • Moving notes between outlines

Hi There - I've been trying out mindraider the last couple of weeks and I'm quite taken with it - I'm finding it very useful, great idea and great implementation. Can I swap notes between outlines? And in the Outline heirarchy would it be possible to specify sperate Outlines - I mean, keep all the existing outlines on using mindraider in one group, and then having a seperate outline for...

Hi Ray! Thank you for your interest in MindRaider. Please be sure that you downloaded the right distribution (Windows distributions does NOT contain shell scripts): https://sourceforge.net/projects/mindraider/files/MindRaider/7.6/mindraider-7.6-linux.tar.gz/download To run MR use mindraider.sh that is located in the bin/ directory. Linux distribution has embedded JRE, therefore it...

  • installation in Linux

HI I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to install MindRaider. Linux desperately needs a powerful note application and if it can include a mind-mapper, that is even better. I extracted the distro to /home/myusername/mindraider (no spaces in the path). And then try to run MindRaider. but there was no mindreader.sh file anywhere in sight. Where is is? How do I run the program?...

  • Followup: RE: internet links display of titles

Hi Jan, this is pretty nice idea. If you mean ability to drag&drop the link + attach it to the topic, it would be doable - I added this improvement to my todo list ;) Having clickable links in the TXT description of the note is problematic (~ undoable), fortunately you can have nice links with Wiki, Richtext or HTML. In this case, the source in the edit mode will be still ugly, but by...

  • internet links display of titles

Hi, I found the feature of Mindraider nicer, that one can drag and drop easily internet links into one Node. However, the entire url which is displayed, usually is cryptic and long. Instead, I would prefer just to let the software display the title, which I defined for this internet links. I did not find a way to do so in the settings or whatever. Any idea about this feature? Thanks a lot...

Responding to my own post (?) I got it to work. Total pilot error. You have to create an outline and note before you can proceed. What's missing is my finding and reading the tutorial.

  • Followup: RE: Doesn't work on Ubuntu.....

I can not get it to work on Mint 7. The program starts OK and all the controls are present and working. But use of any control results in an error. For example attempting to define a concept I get the error that a notebook must be opened, but clearly a notebook is open. Clicking on Documentation under Help results in a "unable to load resource" error. Looks like a great idea...
