  • PS3 : No MP3 playback

Hello, I installed Mediatomb on Ubuntu server 9.10. Everything is working fine from my main computer (which is Windows 7). But my PS3 cannot detect my MP3. It shows my directory structures, i can browse by artist, genre, year and I see all my albums, but everytime I open a directory where are the MP3, it give me "There are no title". Videos works fine one the PS3.

  • Ogg Theora Problems

Hi, First of all thanks for the great piece of software! I'm having some problems with Ogg Theora files, I added the line: <map from="ogv" to="video/oggtheora"/> In the <extension-mimetype> section of the config.xml file, however my .ogv files seem to be renamed to become <filename>.ogv.oggtheora, which causes problems with opening it in Banshee. Without the line...

  • Followup: RE: MP4 unsupported on PS3

I downgraded back to 0.11 and the MP4 movies stream perfectly fine again! There must be some regression here...

  • Followup: RE: Problems with Youtube

OK I've got youtube videos to play. First, forgive me if this answer sucks. I don't normally code for linux or in C++ (or ever dealt with regex or JSON) Someone who knows what they're doing could probably flesh this out so it makes sense (such as adding the json dependecies via configure) First, compile and install libjson (http://jsoncpp.sourceforge.net/) Copy the include files from...

  • Transcoding for Different Devices

Hi all- I'm running a couple of different UPnP clients on my network: a PS3 and XBMC on a two Macs. Obviously the PS3 requires some special transcoding rules (mostly flac->pcm), but XBMC is capable of playing the original flac files. Is there a configuration option that will allow me to tie the transcoding rules to specific clients? Or another approach might be multiple servers (with...

  • MP4 unsupported on PS3

I know that similar questions have been posed before, but I couldn't find an answer to following problem: I used mediatomb 0.11 until recently. It worked fine and my MP4 movies played fine on the PS3. Now I had to upgrade my server and I'm running mediatomb 0.12 now. The very same MP4 files now won't play anymore on the PS3 ("Unsupported file format"). Other formats play fine (xvid etc.). I...

  • Help transcoding MP4 files?

Hi, I have been using mediatomb for a couple of months and I love it. My only problem I have is I cannot get it to play mp4 movies. When I use file -i file.mp4 it tells me the mpg file is an audio file(from the command prompt in ubuntu), not sure how to change this or even if it needs to change. Can someone take a look at my config file and tell me what I have done wrong? Heh also, have been...

  • Followup: RE: mediatomb won't read from external harddrive

Okay I can now see that MediaTomb is being run by the mediatomb user so that explains why it can't access your external drive. Regarding the permissions, is your external drive FAT or NTFS formatted? If it is, then this would explain why changing the permissions didn't work since those filesystems don't support UNIX style permissions. This still doesn't explain why your external drive is...
