it would be nice if I could use something like [Canon Makernote Owner] || [Fuji Makernote Owner] as pattern to get one of these, and only unknown if both don't exist. There should be a defined behaviour if both tags exist.

Thanks for your feedback. We will investigate if this is possible because mediasort is based on Ant. In the meanwhile you can add the file checksum at the end image_checksumfile1, image_checksumfile2.

Would be very useful to have an attribute containing the number of the file in the sorted list.
In that way i will be able to sort images by take date and then give it a name like Image 01, Image 02... and so on.
