  • Is this ever going to be updated?

Is there ever going to be a new version? does anyone know of a "kind of" packaged linux set up like this for a DPF?.

You should only need Java installed on your PC for the upload photos web GUI to work. The rest of the web GUI doesn't require any kind of setup or have any requirements.

@slick0007 - Are you using Windows to connect to your frame? At least with XP, you can just put your frames IP address into the address bar in explorer (My Computer) and add/delete like any other folder. i.e. \\your_ip_here\photos\.

Thanks for the replys. I've been deleteing the pic's using putty, I couldn't find a way to do it from the web controls, which is what I needed so my wife could upload and delete the pic's(new baby). I been working a php script that I could add to web controls to list the pics' and then select to delete, I just haven't had the time to spend on it. Thanks for the help.

Oh yeah - true - I have suspended that project for a couple months - so was just going from memory... also - I really like the Ken Burns effect, so I'm trying to make it work on my old Dell Inspiron laptop... almost have it - using Kbuntu 8.04... 8.10 messes up the video drivers... I just need to get that working and then get the wireless card going and I'm on my way... oh - and it all...

A couple ways: Through the WEB GUI... if you get that working... or from the command line... (if you are LINUX/UNIX savvy) you remove the picture from the photos directory, and then run a script (i forgot which one - but they are self explanitory if i recall) in the script directory to "refresh" the list. good luck.

Also, you don't need to use the command line or run any scripts. The frame updates itself every minute.

How are you putting the pictures on the frame? You should be able to do remove them the same way. Let me know if you need more help.
