  • I use Magnolia CMS for several projects on production now and I can't stress enough how awesome it is. Magnolia - unlike - other CMSes does not come with all the bells and whistles of themes, and a rich set of UI chrome. However, it does come with a very solid backend platform which allows you to do just about anything you want as far as content goes. It requires a more-than-the-average developer to get it setup but the learning curve is well worth it. It has seamless integration with Spring which is a huge plus if you want to make your website use your already existing Spring infrastructure and its architecture is extremely flexible. As a very recent example of its flexibility - I had to integrate a brand new templating language into Magnolia that does not come with it out of the box. In a matter of a couple of hours I was able to elegantly integrate that templating language and get it to work alongside the existing languages. Well worth a serious look into if you want to build a serious website / webapp.

  • excellent application.
  • It just works fine, not overfeatured and I like the overall stability and the ease of extending with own developments or 3rd party plugins.
  • Installation instructions have improved recently. Windows, OSX and Linux instructions are available for community and enterprise editions. http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/
