Hello World,
I tried Lynkeos on my MacBook and I found it very impressive. Easy to use, very fast and quiet cosy. Nevertheless, I also use Linux, I thus tried Lynkeos.app on my Ubuntu Laptop. Whereas the mac version is 2.x, the Linux port is only at 1.2.4. Why this discrimination? What are the most important points to be fixed so as to get a parallel porting between both platforms (Mac and...

Thank you for the help! So do I need to tell DCRaw about the bug then?.

This hue comes from the embedded camera white balance, and what looks like a bug in Dcraw.
Lynkeos uses the utility "Dcraw" to convert raw image files. The options provided to Dcraw are to export a 16 bits image, without gamma correction and, by default, taking into account the camera white balance.
When I launch Dcraw with these options and verbose output, I get that result :

I just thought some people who are interested in Lynkeos may be interested in this.
Another project on Sourceforge, a PC program called EOS Movie Record, is useful for capturing the live view feed from a Canon DSLR camera to disk as an avi movie file. This makes the DSLR camera capable of being used to image planets like a webcam, at a higher resolution than the webcam can do. It also mean.

Ok I opened a bug as you requested, but I could not attach the files to it since the upload is limited to 256kb. I posted 2 screenshots in some online space I have and then linked them in a comment to the bug report. I will try to get the original file up as well.

The files would not attach because this is limited to 256 kb.
Here is a screenshot of a CR2 dragged into lynkeos

Here is the same image converted to an Adobe DNG and then dragged into Lynkeos

I am going to see what I can do about getting the actual CR2 image availabl.

As I stated in the forum, when I attempt to bring a CR2 photo like the one I am attaching into Lynkeos, it immediately takes on a red color. I am running an Intel based Macbook Pro with Leopard 10.5.6.

Hello, and sorry for the delay, I was busy on other topics this month...
I'm using Lynkeos with CRW Canon raw images (from my EOS 10D). I did not notice any particular red hue.
Lynkeos uses Dcraw to convert the raw image file, with 16 bits depth and without any gamma adjustment. The result is very different from the conversion with Dcraw default options. Could it be the reason ?
To better...
