I'm sorry about your loss. For the moment, map editor should be IMHO good enough. It is not great or even good, but we should be able to make some maps with it. We will at some point need somekind of npc-editor for assigning npc's to certain locations and creating dialogs for them, but currently we don't have the database functions ready for that. Currently we need more the...

Only one character per cell? The example in url you gave looks like a battle field, because of the amount of characters in there. Anyway, I think we have to allow multiple players in one cell, or else players can block the way from other players for example in caves. But we don't have to show multiple characters inside on cell in map view. ( But player might be able to click on a cell to see...

Php5 works well, css too ;o) I started some story idea, an object model and a map view. So the story is based on life and death, and a character can be one of those two state (alive or undead) (or even a soul). The object model looks a little bit like yours, but at this time it's all on paper. I will make an electronic version. The difference is NPCs are stand alone and persistant (to...

I'm sorry i've never been on for the past month.. I had a death in the family. It's been hard but I think I can get past it. Well, anyways, unless you think I need to work on what you've done so far, I think you're doing a good job.

First version of map editor is ready. You can add, remove, view and edit existing maps. You can download the sources from sourceforge or give it a try at our sourceforge server: http://lamyle.sourceforge.net/game/admin/mapeditor/map_list.php If you see some fatal errors or other error messages about missing files, that is just the sourceforge server, it is not a bug in the program. At...

With the code in CVS, it's probably best to work on a local machine rather than actively develop on the server. For a Windows machine I suggest something like Xampp (the light version probably) as it includes Apache, PHP 5 and MySQL in a small package. As far as I know, aggro80 is using the database via the shell. I've only used it through our code so far.

Just for my information: how do you acess the mysql database for tests ? is there some phpmyadmin-like utility or do you access it directly through the shell ? Secondly, I wish to do some tests of my stuff (forms and internalisation), but php5 is not available on sourceforge ? Do you know some public server or should I install this at home ? How do you proceed ?.
