  • Tested this on Windows 7 Pro 32 bits system with Virtual Win v4.4 and i-conized 0.0.8-pre3. First impressions are wow, that is a nice addition. It works very well on a single monitor setup. Access to programs across your Windows is blistering fast. Love that feature. It does what it says. But there is also the weakness of this tool and since it is geared towards heavy users with some technical skills that you should be aware about. It does not work well with multiple monitors as most programmers and heavier users do. When you autohide the top menu you do not have access to the left top of your programs. To illustrate this you should keep the autohide features disabled and display the about information of this tool. You cannot see the top, impossible to close it on its top right corner and you cannot move it by grabbing the top. To fix this you can check the autohide features and set the hotkey to CTRL+NUM 0 for example. But then a invasive black bar appears on your second monitor which is really not acceptable. All in all a good tool but not for multi-monitor systems. In my rating I cannot value support but looking at the bugs (23 describes also my findings) but I expect there is not much you will see changed/fixed with this code. May be I should look into this myself one day to see if it can be fixed. But I am not a programmer specialized in writing code for this tool. Anybody willing to fix this who has more experience with programming would make a lot of people very happy. When this is fixed it will be Excellent and highly recommended as module for VirtualWin. Workaround found after troubleshooting with this utility. You set it to autohide and then activate it with for example CTRL+NUM 0. Then you grab the utility and place it at the top of the main monitor just about the same width as the buttons away from the left side of the screen. Push a few times CTLR+NUM 0 to see if it behaves as expected and reposition until it works as you want. When it now hides it tends to hide just under the top corner of the screen and it becomes usable for multiple monitors. I am not sure how stable this works but it seems to work well.
  • I have been using this for about 5 years and have it on every computer of mine.
  • Thanks for software and updates.
