This is GeneZilla ver 1.22. A major bug was fixed which reduced prediction accuracy when more than one gene was present in a sequence (sorting of the intergenic predecessor queue was not properly implemented, resulting in non-optimal predecessors being selected when a new gene was encountered). Please install the Gnu Scientific Library (GSL) prior to compiling GeneZilla: http://www.gnu.org/software/gsl/ Compile the package via command "compile all". All sources compile without error under gcc version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-51) x86_64-redhat-linux Perl scripts are included for preparing training files; to use these you must first set your PERLLIB environment variable to include both the current directory and the location of the *.pm files (the perl subdirectory of the package). This is open source software. Please see http://www.genezilla.org Algorithms are described in detail in the author's book: Methods for Computational Gene Prediction (2007) by W.H. Majoros. Cambridge University Press.
