I can't install the erlybird plugin (nb-scala-6.8v1.1.0m2) on Netbeans 6.8 Beta (MacOS X 10.6).
Using the plugin installer (downloaded plugins) I always get an error saying "Some plugins require plugin Parsing API to be installed.
The plugin Parsing API is requested in implementation version 1.

How to solve :
Open ~/.netbeans/6.7/config/Preferences/org/netbeans/modules/erlang/platform.properties
Set the key erlang.interpreter to point on your erlang interpreter
erlang.interpreter=/home/javajox/prg/erlang-r13b01/bin/erl.

After installing erlybird 6.7.1 on Netbeans 6.7.1 on Mac OS/X and Windows, attempting to set the interpreter through Tools/Erlang Platform will result in a message that the selected erl does not appear to be a valid Erlang interpreter. When installed on Ubuntu, the interpreter was auto-detected. Without configuration, the plugin is greatly limited.
