What's happening?

  • Magnet support

Just wondering if Magnet support will be added to the 3.x line, or 4.x. With trackers going the way of the dodo, for ctorrent to survive and be usable for the masses magnet is gonna have to be supported.

  • Followup: RE: -n option

Thank you, dholmes999. It is really so. I tried at first with FAT32 and have got this problem. Then I changed FAT32 into ext2 and now, though I see all file’s names, but the unselected for download files do not use any place. By the way, when will be the version 4 released?.

  • Followup: RE: cannot connect to tracker

The primary tracker for the torrent is (or was) probably not available. Try choosing an alternate tracker via the -u option (by number or URL; see the help or user guide).

This will be improved in release 4. Note that if your filesystem supports sparse files, the non-downloaded files do not actually consume their full sizes on disk despite what "ls" shows; try "du -k". Some of the files may contain a little data due to sharing space in a piece with a file that was downloaded.

  • buggy sources

I downloaded the sources from the files section, but soon the program did segfault. I solved this problem and re-compiled, and now it works. now I discovered that on svn in branches/dtorrent-3/peerlist.cpp there is a similar bugfix already up. please release a new version!

  • cannot connect to tracker

Hi, I'm running ctorrent dnh3.3.2 on slackware 12.1, the correct ports are open on my router. However, non of my torrents will connect or begin transfer. It just says connect to tracker failed, and timed out. When I use a different client such as Vuze, it works fine. What can be causing this problem that is specific to ctorrent? THanks.

  • Introducing CTCSlib

Hi all, I am currently developing a CTCS frontend to MythTV, and for these purposes I've written a very simple CTCS library. The library basically gives a few data types and abstracts away all the connection handling. There is a bare bones curses frontend as a POC and to show how to use the library. I'd like to know what you think. Comments, suggestions, bug reports, and patches welcome...
