Could you create the same software, Cryptology 1.6.1, for Linux applications. specifically Debian Linux, such as Ubuntu, to be used with the Nautilus File Browser.
Many Windows users are moving to Linux for security reasons and also for performance and stability. True Crypt works, but I used to use Cryptology 1.6.1 for convenience and ease of use.

Greetings.
What parameters should I use for openssl to encrypt/decrypt a file that is compatible with Cryoptology?
I tried:
openssl enc -k aa -d -${OPTION} -in console.txt.cryptology -out console.txt.openssl.decrypt
where ${OPTION} was:
aes-256-cbc
aes-256-cfb
aes-256-cfb1

But I was unsuccessful at decrypting the file generated...

I do not possess a 64-bit version of Vista and have been unable to certify Cryptology on the 64-bit platform. Looking for someone to install Cryptology on a 64-bit version and let the community know if they are successful.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Germinal.

Cryptology 1.6.1 minor release available to the general public.
Files are encrypted using 256 bit AES encryption with a HMAC to ensure the files have not been tampered with. There is no such thing as a weak password since the password you enter is modified to provide additional noise, ensure enhanced key strength, and deter would be crackers by never exposing the original password.

Many thanks for your reply. I have done as you suggested and encrypted then deleted the files. Not much extra work at all, but it would be nice to have the option to shred directly from the context menu in future.
