Due to certain apps and over 4GB of ram I've finally taken the plunge to win7
64bit (prior xp & debian).
This app is wonderful just what I wanted.
I use a dual screen setup and tend to have the taskbars in a vertical manner.
When using XP I used an wonderful little app called TClock that replaces the
crappy windows clock (you still can't change clock font in win7 ?!), allows
you to open the startmenu from the clock as well as hide the original
startmenu button.
I've got a rewrite of TClock working but they have abandoned the startmenu
options sadely.
Ok what i'm after (aside from a start from clock/hide startmenu option added
in future :P).
I would like to change the vertical position of where Classic startmenu opens.
This will let me align near the clock at the bottom of the screen rather than
the top and I can use a hotkey etc to open it.
Is this possible just with skinning? I notice one of the skins has a floating
menu but broken link so I can't check it out.
Most of the options in Resource hacker and the help bit of the webpage seem to
be relative positions to start of the menu.
If I'm wrong could which option in resource hacker?
Skinning any ideas how I might go about this.
Thanks

Unfortunately there is no way currently to do what you want. The skin that you
mention achieves its effect by using a padding of transparent pixels. The same
trick will not work for you.

Thats a shame. Still I like the program enough to have a stab at modifying the
source to suit my needs.
Having a look I'll most likely just alter the Show next to taskbar option to
do what I want.
Setting up the dev environment most likely will be the hardest bit of the
process.
Still for future versions if the powers that be could consider adding the
following features....
Would be great:
Ability to specify whether classic start opens from top or bottom of the
taskbar when vertical
Ability to specify manual offsets in pixels for vertical and horizontal
opening position.
Would be nice but other apps cover (startkiller etc):
Ability to hide start orb (if opening from the bottom of taskbar)
Ability to open classic startmenu from clicking the clock.
Thanks

In 2.9.0 -> General Behavior tab -> there is an option called "Show next to
taskbar (when taskbar is vertical). Is that what you want?

@xp-client: Nope but thx
