    Like the classic start menu.
Is there a way to disable right click to go to the settings because i want to
use it in our network on school.
Now the students can exit the tool and can change the settings.
Maybe it is an idea to use a hotkey with password to open the settings and
    exit the menu.
It can be an option in the settings to use a hotkey or not.

The easiest will be to add a setting in the ini file. Then you can protect the
ini file as any other system file. But you won't be able to exit the menu any
more (until you change the ini file and log off). Is that acceptable?
BTW, another way to exit the menu is to kill the ClassicStartMenu.exe process,
then kill and restart Explorer. Do you have protection against that?

I have protection against killing processes.
What would be the setting in the ini file, it should be acceptable, cause i
don't have to change it everyday.
    thanks

Oh, wait, so you also want to disable the settings, not just prevent exiting
the start menu. Then there's more to it than the right-click menu.
There is the Settings item in the start menu itself.
You can shift+click on the start button to bring up the Windows 7 menu.

Actually, can you clarify what you are trying to do. Do you want to disable
access to certain system functions, or do you want to prevent users from
messing up the start menu so you don't have to fix it afterwards?

Only prevent the user exiting and messing up the start menu.
Shift+click i think is no problem.

I did recompile and build the source but i don't know what goes wrong.
    The skins won't work anymore.

    Which configuration did you compile?

I have it working, it was a problem with Visual studio. I had to run a patch
    for it.
I disabled the exit option in the .dll

The latest version 1.0.0 has options in the ini file to disable Exit,
    Settings, Drag/Drop and right-click.

    Hello Guys
    Can someone help me.
I am restricting a Windows 7 Pro with local policy , everything is correctly
    restricted, e.g right click disable.
Then I used Classic Start Menu 2.9.0 to have a classic menu, which fit the
    job.
I have a problem now, which is the Right-click on Start button that is
activated for "Classic Start Menu", which gave me open, open all users,
    settings and exit.
How can I get rid of this right click ?
I made several combination in the controls menu
Left Click opens : Classic Start Menu , Shift+Click:Nothing > I still got the
    right click enable.
Left Click opens : Nothing, Shift+Click:Nothing,Windows Key:Classic Start Menu

NO right click enable, NO left click, but Windows Key opened the classic
    startmenu.
    Thanks..

What functionality are you trying to disable? Right-click itself is not a
"functionality", it is just an easier way to access functionality.
Are you trying to restrict people from opening certain folders in Explorer, or
to change the settings, or to exit the classic start menu?

    Yeah, restricting users.
I just used a combination of
    Left Click opens : Nothing,
    Shift+Click:Classic Start Menu ,
    Windows Key:None,
Shift+Win:Classic Start Menu > NO right click enable, the left click has
    opened the classic startmenu
Thanks for your prompt reply .

But what do you want to prevent your users from doing? And don't say "prevent
them from seeing the right-click menu", because seeing the right-click menu is
not dangerous by itself in any way.

    Changing settings in classic Startmenu

OK, now we are getting somewhere.
Open the help file in the section Classic Start Menu\Administrative Settings.
Basically you can lock specific settings or you can block all settings by
adding "EnableSettings" value to the registry.
Keep in mind that if you block all settings, nobody will be able to edit the
    settings, not even admins.

How can I get rid of the menu items "open" , when I right-click on the
startmenu. I want to prevent users from accessing files in the windows
explorer when he clicks "open". It's not possible through NTFS permissions or
GPO settings. Is it possible to completely disable the right click on the
    startmenu?

No, this is not possible. There are multiple ways of opening Explorer and you
can't disable them all. Read this thread:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/classicshell/forums/forum/1049756/topic/39126

It will show you how to prevent the Open commands from doing anything.
