  • I am testing/evaluating CDLinux in a VMware Workstation (version 7.1.3 build 324285). CDLinux seems to be pretty clean...there are not very many applications pre-installed (see list below) , thus, clean - BUT, I see NO program or utility to aid in installing more programs, like other distro's? I saw a clean, plain desktop wallpaper (nine in all, only one that is not related to the Xfce desktop manager). The interface is simple and easy to use, which is GREAT! ;) Main Menu: ========== Run Program... --------------------- Terminal Emulator File Manager Mail Reader Web Browser --------------------- Settings = Settings Manager (Accessibility, Appearance, Desktop, Display, File Manager, Keyboard, Mouse, Panel, Preferred Applications, Session and Startup, Window Manager, Window Manager Tweaks, Workspaces), Accessibility, Appearance, CPU Power Saving Settings, Date & Time, Desktop, Display, File Manager, Keyboard, Mouse, Panel, Preferred Applications, SCIM Input Method, Session and Startup, Settings Editor, Window Manager, Window Manager Tweaks, Workspaces. ----------------------- Accessories = Application Finder, Bulk Rename, Character Map, Galculator, Help, Image Viewer, Leafpad, MC File Manager, Screenshot, Task Manager, Terminal Program, Thunar File Manager, Xarchiver. Graphics = GPicViewer. Internet = Firefox, Pidgin, Sylpheed, Transmission. Multimedia = Xfburn. Office = ePDFViewer. System = Bulk Rename, Gigolo, GParted, Install CDLinux, Task Manager, Terminal Program - Super User Mode, TestDisk, Thunar File Manager. ------------------------ Help - The 'Help' on the main menu points to a non-existing directory/file (at least it does not seem to know where it is, if it IS on the CD image)? About CDLinux About Xfce Log Out I hope this helps any other potential CDLinux user? ;)
