Hello Mark,
you can set the update interval to a minimum of 5 minutes in the application settings as long as the display interval is shorter (e.g. 4 min).
I just added range checks ensuring values that seemed reasonable to me. Probably I was to strict here.
You can also change the settings without using the graphical front end to by-pass this range check. For this you need to edit the...

Hello - first, let me say 'thanks' for a great app! I was wondering... is there anyway this can be configured to check for RSS updates every minute? I realize this typically would be undesirable, but for my purposes -- a stock trading site I am a member of, and only 1 feed in my list -- it would be immensely useful. Please let me know your thoughts!

Release 2.8 of BalloonRSS has been published today. BalloonRSS is a simple RSS aggregator that displays incoming messages as balloon tooltip pop-ups in the windows task bar. The news entries themselves are linked to be read with the browser if the user is interested.
The RSS messages are prioritized dynamically according the user's click ratio.
