I hope that we can get this sorted cause I am really looking forward to using this software. I too have been having the same issues as everyone else starting with "Invalid or corupt jar file" which I resolved by opening the terminal file with textedit and corrected the path (for me its applications/avocado/avocado.jar). Next I got the swt-carbon error too. So found the jar it was...

  • Followup: RE: can't start avoCADo for Mac

I was able to get past the error message by rebuilding the manifest informatin using the jar command (unpacked all, erased the MEAT-INF dir, created a new jar specifying a manifest file with the necessary info), but the org/eclipse/swt/widgets/Display class is not found (as mentioned in another answer). Got further, I unpacked all jars in the package into the top level of the avoCADo jar, then...

Probably should have mentioned that I'm running the latest version of java and OS X 10.5.6 on a PPC machine. I have tested every available version and it always gives me the same message.

Has this problem been solved yet? When I try running the "avoCADo" script in the 'current directory' through terminal. I get this message: "Invalid or corrupt jarfile avoCADo.jar".

Just so you know that the problem is still there, I just did a fresh download of avoCADo and Java 1.6, and I am getting the same error messages as detailed in all the other postings. MacBook Pro (Intel) with OS X Leopard 10.5.6.

I think it would be great if avoCADo had functionalities for the ones who work for industry. Three brief topics (note that I am new to advoCADo, so I don't know if it has them already): - Automatic generation of 2d projections, cuts and isometrics with dimensions from a 3d model like PDMS software; - Possibility of creating a database with components (with parameterised geometry) and their...

  • Followup: RE: can't start avoCADo for Mac

When you start a Java application (avoCADo is a script that starts Java), all JAR files needed for the application must reside in a directory referenced by the classpath ($CLASSPATH in terminal window) or be resident in the current directory. If you are not finding avoCADo.jar, it is not in the classpath. When you start avoCADo from the Finder, I suspect the current directory is not pointing...
