FILES ON THIS SITE :: What they are and what you need: Please post comments regarding this software. The demand for this software is declining as the systems that used the hardware are getting old and dieing off. The only reason I am doing this now is because a) I still have an acer, and b) there appears to be some demand still. If you have questions, the discussions area is the place to take them. Also check out the Wiki. I will post some information there that may be helpful. a. acerhkgui: This was the first GUI I wrote for AcerHK. It is a bit dated and current package information. Updates are underway. X.X.X To Be Released. Working to incorporate updates to support Ubuntu release 13.10 and later (Linux Kernel 3.10 and later). It should also support previous kernel versions. 0.7.2.3 Maintenance Release. Updated to install. Source code installation for Linux Kernel 3.10 and later may work, but need feedback. 0.7.2.1 Ubuntu 10.10 to ?13.04?. 0.7.2 Ubuntu 09.10 - 10.04 (prior to 09.10, acerhk.ko was included.) Older: May run, but doesn't include driver install scripts and may use an older GUI. b. acerhk_driver_install_script: This folder is a script to install the driver. The latest version includes source in archive. Updated version posted to support Linux Kernels 3.10+. c. acerhk_driver_fixed-compile: This foldier contains an edited version of the source that should compile either with the script or, in the case of latest, from commandline process. PLEASE default to the acerhk_driver_install_script. If you want to ensure you have the latest souce, reference GruenerTee's ppa to download the source package in .deb. https://launchpad.net/~gruenertee/+archive/ubuntu/acerhk d. Cinnamon Desktop Applet: If you use Cinnamon Desktop, you may be interested in this simple system tray icon. It is just the applet, so you must also ensure you install the acerhk.ko kernel module. (see b. above) e. Ubuntu Application Indicator: This is currenly being worked. It will be similar to the Cinnamon Desktop Applet, but perhaps a little more capable, as I am more familiar with python than javascript. AGAIN::: :) Please post comments regarding this software.
