the game loads well on my netbook however not well on my desktop im thinking it is a hardware issue most of the text and graphics are white out condition sounds are fine other games work well

Looks like the graphics card may be the issue. Do other opengl apps work properly? Warzone 2100 for example.
Could you paste the output from glxinfo?
