I've committed a draft user manual to svn trunk.
Please review it and give feedback and corrections.
It's in the "doc" directory and can be reviewed from a checkout of the source by doing:
yelp ghelp:///my/path/to/xvidcap/doc/xvidcap-manual/C/xvidcap-manual.xml
Or install off svn trunk doing:
./configure
make install
make install-doc
Then open the GNOME help browser and there browse to applications->multimedia->xivdcap
