i have big problems with the alternative keyset on german keyboard with XDarwin 1.1 (XFree86 4.2.0). It is not possible to get the Alt-keys connected with Alt and Alt-Shift keys. It is not possible to get it work correctly:
on local window-manager no method with xmodmap I tried works. with an xdm-server following methods work a little:
xmodmap -e "keycode 66 = Alt_L"
Also thee other method with modying the keycode and the modifiers mod1 and mod2 works but only in the actual open x-windows. If i open a new window the Alt-key will be blocked completely (also the methods described above does not work.)
With xkeycaps I tried to make it work but on us(extended) the Alt-key has no key code and on German keyboard for apple nearly all modifier-keys are connected with a wrong geometry.
