Sorry. I just noticed that my patch does not appear with my message. I have uploaded it to the patches sections. Thanks. -- --------------------- Terence JACYNO Galasoft Inc. |

Hi. First, let me congratulate you on an excellent plugin. It reminds me of the ease of use of XML Spy. I have, however, been having some problems with the loading and saving of files using different encodings, especially when it comes to UTF-8. I believe that I have worked out most of the kinks. Attached is the modified org.xmen.ui.XMLDocumentProvider class. It works well, but I have only tested with Eclipse 2.1.1. Keep up the good work! -- --------------------- Terence JACYNO Galasoft Inc. |

I have a small problem and I you can solve quickly. When ever I open a XML file with a error msg that the DTD could not be found. The message prints out a local address (D:\...) with the path of XML-File. I do not want to copy the DTD into that directory. Instead I'd like to configure a (class)path where xmen search for it. Is that feature already implemented? regards Juergen |

Hi! I'm not subscribed to the list but will try to post anyway. For more than a year I'm looking for some free XML-tool supporting XSD, but it seems like everybody stays put with DTD. So I ask you to keep XSD in mind when working on code completion and the likes. Shouldn't be to hard, should it? Regards, C. |

Hi I have tried extracting the latest version 0.40 into the eclipse 2.1 plug-in directory. However, the plug-in does not seem to be working as intended. I am able to view the preferences for the xmen xml editor in the windows menu but I do not get any xml editor menus. When I create a new xml file, the wizard just opens a new blank file. I have jdk 1.4 running. I am not sure what I am doing wrong? Can you help? regards trevena |

I get this error message in the linux terminar from where I started eclipse, after editing a xml file: java.lang.NullPointerException at org.xmen.ui.XMLReconciler.reconcile(XMLReconciler.java:77) at org.eclipse.jface.text.reconciler.Reconciler.process(Reconciler.java:126) at org.eclipse.jface.text.reconciler.AbstractReconciler$BackgroundThread.run(AbstractReconciler.java:184) It may help to fix the plugin. Hello Mr. Lukowski, > sorry for that, I thought I could trust eclipse with this, but > it seems 2.1M2 has too many bugs. > Here is the new version packed by hand. Thank you very much for your support. I still had problems. Probably = there were further dependencies to JDK1.4. So I upgraded the JDK and I am = happy now. Kind regards, Bj=F6rn |

Hi, thank you very much for replying. The problem is that xman.jar (in the attached zip) does not include the nested classes (names containing $). It would be nice if you could resend the zip file. I think there are a lot of xml files that are not .xml files, for example a .xsl file or a .xsp file. May be I'm wrong, but I think it will be good to edit this files with xmen (or in a future a better particular editor). Thanks. Mauro |

Hi, I have installed your xml plug-in into eclipse 2.0.1. It works almost fine but 1. the formating and the completion do not work. 2. if I have a xml like the following: <test> </test> and write a second element between the test-tag all the text I write is inverted. If I write for example <abcd I get <dcba best regards and many thanks! |

Hi! Thinking about new features.... "Show to the user the begin tag when stands on end tag and the opossite..." On the other hand: The "Table View" is not working for me (version 0.37). Any ideas? in the next days there will be a new release (0.37) featuring: - a better table view - the standard status line and goto line action - an improved formatter now allowing to preserve empty lines - bug fixes... greets Jens Lukowski |

Hi I will set up a homepage in the next days. For now: if you use 0.35 or older extract the zip file to your eclipse dir if you use 0.36 or newer extract it to your plugin directory it should automatically register with .xml and .dtd files if you use other xml editors you can activate xmen in window->preferences workbench->file associations->*.xml choose xmen and click on default this should work Jens Lukowski >Hey are there any installation instructions for this? Hi there's a new version of xmen released featuring: - a simple XML file wizard, more to come --> any preferences here ? - the syntax highlighting is completely restructured and now uses an own scanner instead of the error prone rule based approach - some bugs are fixed regarding syntax highlighting... right now I am working on the scanner (bug fixing, performance tuning), wizards (which are needed here ?) and error detection (you know those white crosses on the red dot) using the task list greets Jens Lukowski |
