I'd just like to know if I'm not mental.
xrandr -s 10 ; xine *.avi ; xrandr -s 0
the first "10" is any tiny size that's bigger than the video itself (see
"xrandr -q" for a list of possibilities, 10 is 512x384 on my machine).
Try that with and without Xv (xshm would be fine). You'll see that the
video's aspect ratio is completely messed up (the width is about 3 times
what it should be).
I reproduced the problem with totem, xine-ui and mplayer, so either
there's been too much code copied between these projects, or there's a
bug somewhere in XFree86.
