I just installed Mandrake 10.1 Community from CDs with a normal
CD-ROM. I then unplug that and plug in my new DVD-ROM. CDs work fine,
but DVDs won't be recognized at all. I'm quite a linux noob so maybe
it's just me.
I have no DVD data cds to test this out.
I think it could be because my players don't have DVD support.
I have kaffeine but dvds don't work, says it doesnt have right
plugin's or whatever. So I get xine-lib 0.9.13. I do ./configure make
and make install on it. It all goes through but with errors. I then
try to install xine-ui but that says I don't have xine-lib installed.
So it must not have worked.
Here are the 3 outputs from each command. The last one, for make
install has a cut off top because my konsole doesn't have that large
of a buffer.
If one doesn't work tell me and I'll get it fixed.
I have a shuttle ss51g, mandrake 10.1 is supposed to be fully
compatible with it. So far everything has worked out of the box.
