In all the rodent configuration scripts the flag THIS_IS_BSD is only raised for FreeBSD and OpenBSD, maybe you should include other BSD systems like DragonFly and EdgeBSD. For now we have to deal with it a trick the config :/ .
Fix seems to be in place, but I have yet been unable to compile a working version of rodent on DragonFly. I'll keep bug report open until I manage to do so. I´m currently having some issues on latest FreeBSD, so it may or may not be related.
