#22 loosing select & paste

Hi,

Shortly after starting a vnc session, selecting text in
my xterm and pasting into notepad stops working.
How can I stop loosing cut&paste ?

xterm->xterm works fine
notepad->xterm works fine
only xterm-> notepad stops working.

rebooting the PC does not solve it.
killing the PC vncviewer, and restarting it does not
solve it.
vncserver -kill :1 ; vncserver -geometry 1600x1200 to
restart the whole Xvnc cures it: for some time then, I
can select in an xterm and paste in notepad.

I'm using:
windows tightvnc viewer 1.2.9

linux redhat 7.3

nor is there any signs (not a single CVS commit in a year
now) of ever being fixed.

I don't think you are monitoring the CVS closely enough.

Have you tried building the CVS to see if it fixes your
problem ?

finally got help from my IT and tried the 999 version.
NO cut-n-paste AT ALL...

I'm trying to use it on a 1U server with no console running
RHEL3

Not sure if this version is compatible with the 4.0 (claims
protocol 3.7 & 3.3 where the 104 would only say 3.3).
vncconfig refuses to start saying: "No VNC extension on
display :1.0".

Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong ?

vncconfig doesn't work with xf4vnc, it's a realvnc tool.

As for cut & paste, it still works here in an xterm and
pasting into notepad and back again, so I'm not sure what
problem you are seeing.

In an attempt to clean up some bug reports, I'm closing this
as understood to be fixed in 4.3.0.999. If it isn't - please
reopen.
