[2.0.9] %nnn expansion depends on %B/%C expansion
Brought to you by:
zed
Preferences->Input Box->Interpret %nnn as ASCII value
does not work without also enabling
...->Interpret %C, %B as Color, Bold etc.
I've created a patch which fixes this problem, which
can be found at
http://www.inf.tu-dresden.de/~bf3/xchat/xchat-2.0.9-ascii-color.patch

Both those options are OFF by default now and will probably
be removed completely. The current method is to use ctrl-k
for colours and ctrl-alt-number for any unicode char.

What I like about the old behaviour is that you get to see
readable character combinations (%C etc) instead of weird
graphical characters representing a control character, and
that %nnn does not rely on the X server configuration.
But I suppose neither reason is really important.

Yeah but %C and %XXX would appear in URLs alot and mess them up.
ctrl-shift-xxxx shouldn't rely on your X config either, it
just inserts a unicode char, regardless of locale.
If the %-feature is left in at the next version, I'll add
your patch.
