#4621 Ubuntu: otherpkgs fails with dots in name

Hi,

We are trying to install gpfs packages using otherpkgs, and found that any package that we specify in the otherpkglist that has a dot, the dot is replaced by a colon(:), as per the line in

Is this is a bug, or is this expected? Do we expect this behaviour?

Based on Debian Policy Manual [1], Section 3.1 [2], Section 5.6.7 [3] and Section 5.6.1, periods (.) is a valid character in Package name. Thus, this is an xCAT bug, we should fix it.

Package names (both source and binary, see Package, Section 5.6.7) must consist only of lower case letters (a-z), digits (0-9), plus (+) and minus (-) signs, and periods (.). They must be at least two characters long and must start with an alphanumeric character.

    Fix sourceforge bug #4621. This removed line was added by the fix of
sourceforge bug #4511. But there is no good reason to change the perioids
(.) in Debian/Ubuntu package names to colons (:). Since perioids (.) is a
valid character in package name of Debian/Ubuntu. Due to Debian Policy
Manual Section 3.1, Section 5.6.7 and Section 5.6.1.
