When i try to compile i am getting fallowing error In R.H Linux 7.2. Any one is there to help me in this...

./configure
loading cache ./config.cache
checking for Cygwin environment... no
checking for mingw32 environment... no
checking for executable suffix... configure: error: installation or configuration problem: compiler cannot create executables.

I have the same problem. I am trying to run the configure
script on cygwin (latest version)...

I have understood from thier website that many people
manage to do it on their systems....

Can someone, please, help with details?

I got the same problem when I tried to complie on Solaris 2.8.
