As the title says, the 0.9.5 version refuses to open a read-only image (an ISO image, in my case). The previous version, 0.9, has no problem when opening the same read-only file.
I've verified this with a build from trunk. Set an img file as read-only, then tried to open with image writer. When the file is selected in the file browser, get an error dialog telling me "this file is read only - select another". Switching to the generic file browser was supposed to avoid these problems, but I'll look at it.
Thanks for the report. In case you weren't aware though, image writer doesn't support writing ISOs.

I use it to write hybrid ISOs to USB flash drives.
This is a bug in QT5.2.1. It is supposedly fixed in 5.3alpha.
https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-36886
I have run a test build with QT 5.3.0RC and confirmed that this issue is fixed.
Marking as pending, as I can't reproduce this anymore with QT 5.4/5.5. Next release will no longer have this issue.
