Hello,
I'm one of the pywikipediabot developers. We use the "What links
here" feature for many purposes, like solving disambiguations,
resolving redirects or renaming boilerplates.
Unfortunately, the feature only shows 500 links. This limits the bot's
possibilities very much; if he had more links, you could use him for
maintaining "primary topic" disambiguations, which is absolutely
impossible without a bot.
What I would like to see is the possibility to use
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=Special:
Whatlinkshere&target=Example&limit=2000
Currently the limit is hardcoded to 500 in Whatlinkshere.php. It
shouldn't be too hard to change, as it's not necessary to change the
'GUI', only the bot will use it. A similar feature exists for the "User
Contributions" special page.
Thanks,
Daniel

Tim Starling just implemented the feature while I was typing, so this can
be closed. Thanks Tim.
