if AWStats is set to run as the virtual hosts user.. it appears that configuration files under /ets/awstats are set too restrictive (only allowed to be accessed by Root).
furthermore, I have had issues with log files for apache, under /var/log/virtualmin
they appear to revert to owner/group root:root after some time. however, this might be related to something else. logrotate is set to preserve permissions, so I am unsure what could be mangling the owner permissions
anyways, I managed to get AWStats to generate a report by changing permissions of files under /etc/awstats to 644, and fixing owner
it might just be something i've done, so i'm not sure yet if this is a bug, or a misconfiguratioin on my part.
thanks
How did you install Virtualmin - was it using the standard install script, or did you just add the Webmin module manually?
