I've tried to run VPA en SVGA mode (-s option) and in this way it works with a cross. Then I changed some parameters in the dosemu.conf and it's not working any longer :-/

No, this is not possible from VPA.
Maybe there's an option in dosemu.conf to turn off the DOSEMU mouse pointer? VPA cannot change anything DOSEMU does.
