Error running newly installed Visual Python

After installing Visual Python on my Win7, 64bit PC, I get a popup error whether a start with New File or New Project. The error is "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application…%1 is not a valid Win32 application". I have tried reinstalling a couple times to no avail. Details:
