Music data is installed in correct spot, at least judging by the relative paths in vegastrike.config. Ship sounds (lasers) works, no engine noise (can't remember if there ever was) and Oswald's tutorial can be heard and run through. You, uh, can also hear his shields being impacted by the aformentioned lasers.

An strace bogged the system down that no useful info was captured prior to my patience wearing out and nothing related to music or ogg appeared in the usual console output. Some GL warnings present and an error relating to a missing units.csv.

uname -a:
Linux vader 3.6.9 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Dec 6 14:12:39 EST 2012 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

ogg123 -V:
ogg123 from vorbis-tools 1.4.0

config.log attached.

Argh, why does sourceforge commit a bug to upload a file? I'm not anonymous damn it. Email twalter@rogers.com if any additional info req'd. Thanks.

I should have writtin no ogg related errors in standard console output; it starts off saying that both ogg and ffmpeg codecs are registered.
